I joined Hatmill in 2013 following over 10 years’ experience of supply chain across multiple sectors including ecommerce, manufacturing and grocery. Joining Hatmill has allowed me to focus on delivering supply chain solutions for a broad spectrum of clients.

I joined Hatmill in 2013 following over 10 years’ experience of supply chain across multiple sectors including multi-channel retail, manufacturing and grocery. The opportunity to join a fresh and dynamic consulting business was too good to turn down and has allowed me to focus on delivering supply chain solutions for a broad spectrum of clients. Having worked with Simon previously it was an easy decision to make and I instantly felt part of the team.

The last 10 years delivering projects and supporting the growth of Hatmill have been incredibly fulfilling.  The success of the business is founded on our culture and values, which set us apart from the crowd.  The transition to an Employee Owned Trust has been a natural progression for us and I was honoured to have been voted onto our inaugural Operations Board by my colleagues.

How we operate as a business allows all of us to focus on adding value for our clients and I’ve been fortunate to work on a number of exciting projects:

  • Leading a team of consultants to transform a global manufacturer’s European supply chain and logistics operations; reducing inventory, improved line side availability and lowering operating costs
  • Developing and implementing a future network solution for a group of carpet retailing businesses, each with their own supply chain. The distribution operations were consolidated to reduce overall logistics cost and drive service level improvements
  • Strategic evaluation of a major discount retailer’s distribution network to identify opportunities to reduce operating costs, realise operational efficiencies and support business growth. Then project manage through to go live the Design and Build of a 500,000 sq. ft. warehouse

I have seen the business grow from the 3 or 4 of us when I started, to over 50 full time consultants whose passion and capacity for success is unrivalled. The values we share and the fun we have delivering for clients are what make Hatmill a great place to work.

By improving their demand forecast, we helped one client save £3m in agency staffing costs (that’s an 18% reduction).
