Rob Cottrell

I joined Hatmill in the summer of 2017 after 4 years working on 2 of the big 4 UK food retailer contracts both In House and 3PL. My industry experience began on the Logistics Graduate Scheme for Morrisons where I rotated across Fresh, Ambient and Transport placements in multiple locations across the country. These placements involved running teams across all areas and not only gave me vital experience in management but also exposure and an understanding of the variety of day to day challenges posed. Following this, I was then part a project team that set up a new 3PL run convenience DC in the South West utilising an existing operation. Working alongside the DHL project manager, this gave me an invaluable insight into their ways of working including project management methodology, TUPE transfer and refining a warehouse layout to improve efficiency; a fantastic opportunity at such an early stage in my career.

Following my time with Morrisons I joined Wincanton working as a Transport Manager on a major food retailer contract in the South East. Whilst with Wincanton I completed my International and National Transport Managers CPC, was enrolled onto the company “Get Ahead” scheme for future leaders and played a key role in improving communications both internally and also externally to stores, creating clear and easy to use frameworks and ways of working.

I love to learn and strive for continuous improvement both in myself and for the teams I work with. I am delighted to have joined Hatmill and I’m excited to work with a team of talented, intelligent and motivated people who I feel provide the perfect environment to thrive and achieve my goals both on a personal level and for the teams I work with. Onwards to the next challenge!
