I am a transport specialist with over 20 years of Logistics and Supply Chain experience.  My skillset spans solution design, commercial business development, project management, implementation and operations.

I am a transport specialist with over 20 years of Logistics and Supply Chain experience.  My skillset spans solution design, commercial business development, project management, implementation and operations.

When presented with a project or a challenge, I will consider both commercial and operational implications from the perspective of all stakeholders, and meaningfully engage with the client team at all levels.

Following a stint working in general haulage operations, I went on to study ‘Transport & Logistics Management’ at the University of Huddersfield.  I then spent much of my career in a third party logistics environment before moving on to become an independent consultant.  I have been working with Hatmill since 2016.

My sector experience ranges across retail, manufacturing, construction, public sector and automotive for clients that have included wilko, B&Q, M&S, Heinz, Lafarge Tarmac and Fiat.

Some of my recent projects have included:

  • Scoping a transport tender for a large UK retailer, award of contract to a new logistics provider and seeing the transition through to ‘go live’
  • Transitioning a grocery product manufacturer from an ‘in house’ logistics provision into a third party operated warehouse
  • Network design projects in industries as diverse as furniture home delivery, general merchandise retail and agriculture
  • Development and implementation of a fleet management system for ebola response vehicles in Sierra Leone

I enjoy starting new projects, meeting new people, understanding new challenges and delivering high quality results.

I find it really exciting to get started on a new project, meet the team and begin to understand the operation but the real satisfaction comes from completing a project and handing over to the team that will be taking it forward
